Woke up yesterday with a stabbing pain in my back. My nurse, JT from Barton Home Health, came to the house and collected a urine sample and blood. Blood showed infection, but urine was inconclusive. On Keflex (antibiotic) and feeling much better. Went out for lunch with Tricia, Peggy and Earl and played some pool with Earl. Thanks for letting me win, pal! Feeling much better today. Looking forward to playing some cards and Mexican train.
Dr. Sanford from UCSFMC called last night when he got the message from JT that I wasn’t feeling well and then called again today. Confirmed I should stay on Keflex for a week. I have a follow up appt. on Thursday in San Francisco. Earl is going with me to the appt. and we’re taking Richard (our host when we stay in the City) to lunch. He knows all the best places to eat. Yummy!
JT and I changed my urostomy appliance yesterday. Stoma looked great, but is still recessed. Hoping it will resolve when swelling does down as it is difficult to manage recessed. But, we’ll figure it out either way. Still using Hollister products for urostomy. Tried Hollister on my colostomy and got a skin rash around my stoma under the wafer. Wierd that I don’t have that reaction on the urostomy? Will try Convatec products for the urostomy once I get some convex wafers from Convatec. Had quite a bit of goo around the urostomy stoma. Will ask the docs about it on Thursday.
